LED modules

  • LED modules are compact lighting components that integrate multiple light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and often include additional features such as voltage-changing fuses, lighting controllers, and wires. LED modules are used in various lighting systems, both decorative and functional. They are often used with LED strips, LED luminaires, and other lighting forms to achieve the desired light effect, light distribution, and energy savings.

  • Technical Data

    LED Type:

SMD (Surface Mounted Diode) or COB (Chip-on-Board).
Different types of LEDs can be used depending on the desired lighting effect and light intensity.
    Luminous Flux (lumens):

LED modules have varying luminous flux depending on their power and the type of diodes used, for example, from 80 lm to 2000 lm or more.
    Voltage and Power:

Typically powered by 12V or 24V DC voltage.
Power depends on the module type but generally ranges from 1W to 10W per module.
    Color Temperature:

Available in different color temperatures, from warm white (2700–3000K) to cool white (6000–6500K), as well as RGB modules that allow color changes.
    Ingress Protection (IP):

IP20 – for dry indoor use.
IP65, IP67 – moisture and dust-resistant, suitable for outdoor conditions.
    Dimensions and Construction:

Module sizes vary depending on the application and type (commonly 20mm x 20mm or 50mm x 50mm).
Many modules have an integrated wire or connectors for easy installation.
    Applications

Decorative Lighting: LED modules are ideal for decorative lighting systems designed to highlight architectural features, furniture, or other interior elements. RGB modules allow for color-changing lighting, making them popular for festive lighting, decorations, and stage designs.

Functional Lighting: Used where efficient and precisely directed lighting is needed, such as in work zones, showcases, and commercial spaces. LED modules create even lighting while saving energy with lower power consumption.

Automatic Lighting Control: LED modules are often used with motion sensors, light detectors, or timers to automatically turn lighting on or off based on environmental conditions.

Industrial and Commercial Buildings: LED modules are used in industrial, warehouse, and retail lighting systems where high lighting efficiency and low energy consumption are required.

Automotive and Marine Lighting: Due to their low energy consumption and long lifespan, LED modules are commonly used for automotive interior lighting, marine lighting, and other vehicle lighting applications.

    Pros

Energy Efficiency: LED modules are highly efficient, consuming little energy and offering long lifespans (up to 50,000 hours).
Low Heat Emission: LED technology generates minimal heat, making them safer to use and less prone to overheating.
Longevity: LED modules have a long lifespan, reducing maintenance and replacement costs, making them economical in the long term.
Flexibility and Adaptability: Flexible modules allow installation in various locations, including complex corners and spaces that require special designs.
Color Variety: RGB LED modules allow for color changes, making them an excellent choice for interior lighting, stage designs, exhibitions, and advertising.
Protection Features: LED modules with IP65 or higher protection ratings are resistant to dust and moisture, making them suitable for outdoor and damp environments.
    Cons

Price: LED modules may be more expensive than traditional lighting solutions, but the savings in energy consumption and longevity offset the initial cost.
Requires Proper Power Supply: Some LED modules require special power supplies or controllers, which can increase overall costs and installation complexity.
Limited Light Distribution Power: LED modules are often used in areas requiring stronger light output, but they may not be sufficient for large or highly spacious areas if the lighting system is not properly planned.
Installation Complexity: Some modules require more complex installation, especially when integrating them into complex lighting systems or using additional accessories.
LED modules are highly efficient and versatile components for creating various lighting systems. They are characterized by longevity, energy efficiency, and a wide range of application possibilities. However, some models require special power supplies and control. These modules are ideal for both decorative and functional lighting and can also be used in commercial, industrial, and outdoor lighting systems.
